The Beautiful Beta Chapter had the pleasure to attend the 89th Central Regional Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin! We had such a great time building sisterhood and leadership. We are honored to have won 1st Place for the following International Program Awards: Strengthen Our Sisterhood, Empower Our Families, Enhance our Environment, Advocate for Social Justice, and Uplift Our Local Community, in addition to the Excellence in Education Award.
The Beautiful Beta Chapter also won the Nadine C. Bonds Membership Transfer Award (City-Wide Chapter), Kiahna W. Davis Social Media Presence Award (City-Wide Chapter), Overall Program Award (City-Wide Chapter), Confident Chapter Leadership and Service Award (City-Wide Chapter), Kiahna W. Davis Visual Storyteller Award, Kathy A. Walker Steele Undergraduate Scrapbook Award.
We also want to congratulate our Beta Beauties for winning individual awards.
The Beautiful Beta Chapter would like to congratulate Charlene Coates for winning Runner Up for the Yvonne Perkins Outstanding Basileus Award and Runner Up for the Giselé M. Casanova Outstanding Leadership Award. The Beautiful Beta Chapter would like to congratulate Marie-Pia Gomes for winning the Kathy A. Walker Steele Outstanding Sisterly Relations Award. Thank you to all those who participated and donated to the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Beta Chapter, clothing drive. The donated items were dropped off for the Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Pack and the winter items to Clothes4Charity.

The Beautiful Beta Chapter mourns the loss of our newest Ivy Beyond the Wall, Soror Autumn Williams. Soror Autumn was initiated into Beta Chapter on March 21st, 2021 of U.S.S.H.E.I.R.S.
Soror Autumn was a rising senior at Loyola University Chicago studying Economics. Soror Autumn served Beta Chapter dutifully as the chapter’s Treasurer, Historian, and Loyola Chicago Campus Representative. She served with dedication for Beta Chapter’s History Committee, Risk Management Committee, and Finance Committee. Soror Autumn will always be remembered as a fearless, sweet, authentic spirit, who encompassed the ideals of service to all mankind and being her sister’s keeper.
Beta Chapter will deeply miss her presence but will never forget the impact she made on each of us. We ask to keep the Williams family, friends, and all those who knew & love Autumn in your prayers during this time.
